FACTOR
FACTOR, The Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent on Records, administers a combination of funds from the Department of Canadian Heritage and broadcaster contributions. Grants support the production of demos and CDs, as well as videos, tours, showcases, and marketing initiatives. As a private non-profit organization and an industrial strategy, FACTOR is dedicated to providing assistance toward the growth and development of the Canadian independent recording industry. FACTOR assists recording artists and songwriters as well as record labels, distributors, producers, engineers and directors.

Provincial Music Industry Associations
Across Canada, provincial industry associations serve the music industry according to mandates that meet the needs of their particular regions. They all publish newsletters, and most have created a provincial directory, offer workshops or produce conferences. In addition, they are the regional evaluation coordinators for FACTOR, and are the regional representatives for CARAS (Juno Awards).
