Rose Jacobson presents
Picasso Project
Rose Jacobson will introduce the “Picasso Project”, a two year non-traditional research and training project exploring new and accessible ways to develop, create and present theatre, dance and mixed media art by blind, deaf and physically disabled artists. This will be followed by a sneak preview of the new docu-video of the Project which features excerpts from these innovative theatre and movement workshops, two dramatic readings and interviews. Followed by a Q & A about the Project and the Toronto scene.
Rose Jacobson is a programmer, producer, researcher and communications specialist with over sixteen years in the Toronto performing arts scene. Her expertise lies in the areas of diversity, access and innovation. She was Cross Cultural Director of the Toronto Theatre Alliance, 1991- 2004, where she collaborated with a growing field of disabled and Deaf artists to create accessible services, programs and tools. She was producer for the DIS THIS Artists Group that performed at kickstART! in 2001, co-created the play “Samson’s Hair” with Kazumi Tsuruoka and is currently wrapping up the Picasso Project with artist Alex Bulmer. She is herself a practicing visual artist.
