Kim graduated from Studio 58's acting program in 1978. A three-time Jesse nominee, she received the Best Actress Award in 1985 for her portrayal of Dot in the collective creation "Sex Tips for Modern Girls". As playwright, productions of "Madame Scotchtape" and "Hot Flashes" have received critical acclaim. She is an acting teacher, director, and facilitator for new work. Kim sings with the "Voices Rising" Jazz ensemble and "The Outskirts", an a capella trio.
She is grateful for this 50th birthday kickstART2 catharsis: the telling of her crazy beautiful story. Living with the extrodinary heights and depths of bipolar mood disorder for over 50 years - through a brilliant career, homelessness, parenthood, poverty, romance, and therapy, Kim's story is an artists' journey with stopovers in heaven and in hell. It is the tale of a broken woman who is surprised by grace and is transformed... again and again. Kim tells her tale with warmth, humour... And some songs and surprises!
