Sima Elizabeth Shefrin

Paper Doll Self Portrait Workshop

Join artist and curator, Sima Elizabeth Shefrin for a fun and whimsical self portrait workshop. Starting with a variety of pre-cut paper bodies between 3 and 12 inches high, participants will dress the people and bring out their personalities, creating self portraits of themselves, currently, in the past, or as they envision themselves in the future.

If participants wish, their creations will be displayed for the duration of the festival.

Everyone is welcome; no artistic skill or experience is required.

Sima Elizabeth Shefrin is a fabric artist, curator, banner maker and community arts organizer. Some of her projects include Artist-in-Residence at Kerrisdale Community Centre, Artist/Organizer of the Middle East Peace Quilt and Community Artist at South Vancouver Neighbourhood House. Along with Emma Kivisild she is co-curating the visual arts component of kickstART2.
