Singer/songwriter Jeff Standfield has performed his personal blend of contemporary acoustic folk and blues for about 15 years. He writes about “personal challenges and insights, which transcend disability and reflect human experiences.” Disabled since surviving a virus at 1 year old which damaged his spine, causing partial paralysis, Jeff played guitar since 10, but didn’t begin performing until he was 20. In addition to music, he has been a medal winner for Canada at 3 Paralympic Games in swimming, as a team mate of people such as Terry Fox and Rick Hansen. He is at the heart of the open stage nights at Myles of Beans in Burnaby, showcasing musicians from the disabled community while helping others to gain experience.
Folk Singer / SongwriterJeff Standfield has been writing songs, playing guitar and harmonica, and singing since he was a boy, but didn't begin seriously performing until his thirties. And since then, he has been a regular on the Vancouver folk scene. His music is rooted in a passion for living with an irrepressible hope for the future. And through his own challenges and the experiences of others, he celebrates in songs both the struggle and beauty of life. Contact: www.jeffstandfield.com
