"I've performed all around the English-speaking world. And everywhere I go, Vancouver and the producers of this event tonight, the Society for Disability Arts and Culture, are recognized as being on the leading edge world-wide for Disability Culture.

The work that we see here tonight actually ripples throughout the entire world. I am really honoured to be here and it's easy to boast. One example, I recently returned from the Above and Beyond Festival of the Disability Arts in England. And they basically modelled their whole Festival on Vancouver's kickstART! Festival, put on by the Society for Disability Arts and Culture.

This is important stuff that is happening here. You guys are all on the leading edge. You are artistically sophisticated."
