Katherine Wood

Artist Statement

Self portrait by the artistKatherine Wood was born December 24, 1936, in Victoria, BC and joined the Garth Homer Society (GHS) Art Studio in 1997. She has a wide variety of interests, including travel, reading and current affairs. Her style is representational and very immediate. She loves to do quick sketches to capture what she sees. Katherine says, "My favourite art supplies are colouring pencils. I like to draw the lines first and then colour in. My late uncle Harry Walker painted a picture of a totem pole in Vancouver, BC, many years ago."

Catalogue Description

Victoria-based artist Katherine Wood was born in 1936, and joined the Garth Homer Society (GHS) Art Studio in 1997. Her style of art is representational and very immediate. She loves to do quick sketches to capture what she sees. Katherine has exhibited extensively in the Victoria area, as well as in Scotland, Japan, and California.
